You have no idea why there are tubes coming out of every part of his body, why he is hooked up to about 7 different machines that are monitoring everything from heart rate, and blood pressure, to oxygen and brain patterns. He was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). A CHD is a defect that you are born with, more than 155,000 babies are born with one or more CHDs a year. That is over 3 times the amount of babies and children affected with cancer in a year.  It is estimated that by 2015, over 500,000 children and adults under the age of 21 will be born with a CHD, and have at least one surgery to attempt to fix their defect. Almost one-third of the babies born with a CHD die before they are 8 years old. Very few people know about Congenital Heart Defects, and there is not much research funds to try to improve the life of children born with these conditions. All I am asking is for you to reblog and get the word out. If more people will know, more people will donate and help support the cause.
